Course Overview

The Immersion Course in Minimally Invasive Surgery for Latin America with Focus in Robotic and Uniportal Surgery is sponsored by the Division of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and features faculty from Harvard Medical School. This conference will bring together world-renowned surgeons who will share the latest advancements in minimally invasive thoracic surgery techniques through live-surgery, didactic, and video-based presentations. 

This activity is designed to meet the continuing education needs of Thoracic Surgeons, as well as others who may assist thoracic surgeons in practice. Although the curriculum focuses on the most challenging and complex procedures, Fellows and Residents in thoracic and surgical training programs have also benefited from this conference.

The main objective of this course is to provide an update on innovative thoracic surgeries that use minimally invasive techniques. The focus of the activity will be on uniportal and robotic surgery. Our format of lectures, live surgery, and Q&A sessions is ideal for updating and teaching participants on those advanced techniques and how to integrate those techniques into clinical practice.
