Marcelo Matiello, MD, MSc, FAAN

Marcelo Matiello is a renowned expert in Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromyelitis Optica, MOG antibody disease, Optic Neuritis, and neuroimmunology disorders, as well as Comprehensive General Neurology. He serves as Vice-Chair of Clinical Affairs at the MGH Department of Neurology and directs the Mass General Brigham Teleneurology Program. 

Dr. Matiello has authored over 80 publications in esteemed journals like New England Journal of Medicine, Neurology, and JAMA Neurology. His pioneering research has advanced understanding of MS, NMO, and MOGAD, providing novel insights into their pathophysiology and guiding improved diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. He has delivered over 100 presentations at national and international conferences.  

An active member of organizations such as the American Academy of Neurology and National MS Society, Dr. Matiello contributes to committees and task forces focused on advancing neurological research, promoting evidence-based practices, and enhancing patient care.
