Enrique de-Madaria specializes in the clinical management of pancreatic and biliary diseases. His group promotes multicenter collaborative studies at the national and international levels, focusing mainly on acute and chronic pancreatitis.

Founder and Coordinator of the Race of the Cities Against Pancreatic Cancer, an international sporting event that raises funds for research in pancreatic cancer (more than 1 million € raised for open grants).

President of the Spanish Gastroenterology Foundation; Past President of the Spanish Association of Gastroenterology; founder and Past President of the Spanish Association of Pancreatology. Member of the UEG Educational Committee. Former UEG Meeting of Members representative. Past member of the UEG National Societies Forum. Education Committee co-chair, European Pancreatic Club.
