
Charudutt Paranjape, MD, MBBS
Charudutt Paranjape, MD, MBBS, received his surgical training in India and in the United States. After completing his fellowship training at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, he worked as an attending physician at Cleveland Clinic Akron General where he formed its acute care surgery program and served as the medical director. In 2009, he founded Cleveland Clinic Akron General’s Heartburn Center where he built a comprehensive state-of-the-art multidisciplinary program.
Dr. Paranjape currently leads the Division of General Surgery as well as Acute Care Surgery at Mass General Brigham, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and serves as the associate chair of education. Since joining, Dr. Paranjape has launched the Newton-Wellesley Heartburn and Reflux Program, a unique multidisciplinary program involving surgeons, gastroenterologists, dietitians and advanced practice providers. He is also an active member of the Swallowing, Heartburn and Esophageal Disease (SHED) Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Paranjape serves on many national committees including The Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
