This educational program is for those who care for patients with cancer who may be appropriate for cellular therapy treatment. This program aims to fill the gap in knowledge that community health care professionals may have in caring for patients who receive stem cell transplants or CAR T-cell therapy. There are not readily available quantitative data about the practice of sharing care; however, we have heard anecdotally from many clinicians that they often don't feel prepared to treat cellular therapy patients in the community. Therefore, we seek to educate the body of clinicians that may be caring for this patient population.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Summarize the referral process and care coordination between the community oncologist and the transplant team.
• Identify common and uncommon post-treatment toxicities post-treatment and differentiate between various common, chronic, and advanced infections post-treatment.
• Discuss the science and best practices of haploidentical transplantation.
• Review other non-infectious concerns that may present during short-term and long-term recovery from treatment.
• Categorize common toxicities during CAR T-cell treatment.
• Summarize the latest in research and clinical practice.
