Advancing Women’s Health: A 2024 Update

Course Overview

Both sex and gender influence health and disease across the life course and across all organ systems. This live virtual course educates clinicians caring for women on current, evidence-based management of medical conditions that uniquely or disproportionately affect and/or present differently in women, and therefore require different prevention and treatment plans. Through didactic presentations and Q&A, faculty experts will provide a comprehensive review of treatment recommendations derived from their clinical expertise and peer-reviewed research on medical conditions affecting women from a broad range of specialties. This year’s course topics will include: 

• New medications for weight management.
• Pelvic floor physical therapy.
• Fat stigma in patient care.
• Hirsutism: evaluation and treatment.
• Preventing (PrEP) and treating HIV in women.
• Treatment of depression in postpartum and across the lifecourse.
• GSM and Sexual Function.
• Evaluation and treatment of STIs.
